Auditions for Sketch and Musical Improv Shows

Sketch Show Working Title:  “Radioactive Graveyard”

Who we are looking for:  You should love satire (political and social), you should have at least one year of improv under your belt (but not totally required but at least completed Level 4), and if you have improv to sketch or Second City training that’s a nice plus. Most importantly be dedicated, have fun, and leave your ego at the door. You should be available to rehearse on Saturdays and/or Monday nights. (schedule TBD). This you??  Be at the theater on 2/5 at 12:15.

It’s been a long time since we’ve created a sketch revue at FCI. (past shows include No Drought About It, Netflix and Kill, and Some Magnificent Thing).  This sketch show will be created in the Second City style of having an ensemble use improv to create a thematic sketch show.  We will have regular rehearsals where we create material with improv and form it into a show. We will have a few preview nights where we try out parts of the show in front of an audience. The goal is to premier the full show in late Spring.

What is different this time is we already have the main premise and outline! It’s part “NextDoor, The Musical” and part “Is it the Cold War, again?!” (and no, Russia isn’t involved). However, we still need a ton of material to fill it out and a few more talented performers.  We have a few key people on board and are looking for a few more. Amy Lisewski will be directing with Gabe Abano assistant directing. Everyone will be involved in creating material. Depending on what we create, either everyone or just some of the creators will also perform in the show.

The goal is to have a long-running “hit” with a truly hilarious and entertaining satirical show. Curious?  Come to the auditions!!!  We also need people interested in stage managing, producing, assistant directing, and other non-performing roles.

Musical Improv Team

It’s been a hot minute since we’ve had a house musical improv team and if Broadway can re-open then so can we!!!   Do you love Baby Wants Candy?  Can you bring massive stage presence and comedy to songs made up on the spot? Co-directed by our Assistant Artistic Director (musical) Jesse and Artistic Director Amy. This is going to be a crazy good musical improv show with a featured slot starting in March or April.   We’ve got a couple of new musical directors at the ready to make this amazing.   We are seeking 6-8 additional performers.  If you have some advanced musical improv experience and want to be considered for one of those slots be at auditions on 2/5 at 1:15 sharp!

For both shows, we want to see some veterans, some new faces, and everything in between.

Can’t make the 2/5 date?  Please email info@finestcityimprov.com and let us know. (no promises but let us know!)
