The program for the 4th Annual San Diego Improv Festival in 2017 is officially complete and tickets to all shows and workshops go on sale December 1, 2016 at 9am.

Ninety-eight teams submitted this year, more than any other year. There will be 11 show blocks over 4 days featuring a total of 44 shows. A volunteer selection committee of 19 local performers selected 29 teams to perform based on three factors: engaging, unique, funny. Featured teams include Opening Night, Jetzo, Red Door, Fancy Boys, Pepita, Euro Trash, Shades of Grey, Nox, EOP, Regicide, Bush League, Pawn Takes Queen, and many more from as far as Toronto, Atlanta, and Austin, TX.

Eleven more teams were invited by random lottery from the pool of remaining submissions to give some newer teams or teams without strong video submissions to participate.

The program also features:

  • The 2016 Best of Fest Winners Robot Teammate and The Accidental Party
  • The Independent Teacher Show – a show featuring the instructors visiting without teams
  • Two Finest City Improv House Teams
  • A “Single Rider” show with 8 players selected from submissions from individual performers that will be coached by Amy Lisewski.

Thirteen instructors will teach a total of 16 workshops Friday through Sunday. Instructors include Shulie Cohen, Derek Miller, Jay Sukow, John Abbott, Jill Eickman, Marcus Sams, Elelan Fishbein, Amey Goerlich, Amy Lisewski, Stacy Reed Hanlon, Celeste Pechous, TJ Mannix, and the cast of Robot Teammate.

4-Day VIP passes are available again this year and guarantee great seating at all shows. The pass is just $95. Performers in the festival are able to purchase half-price VIP passes to guarantee seating or they can opt to show their performer badge at the box office 30 minutes before each show to get a standby line number for an available free seat.

Tickets for the festival shows and workshops go on sale online at 9am on December 1st, 2016.  The festival runs from February 16-19, 2017 at Finest City Improv in San Diego, CA.
