Do you wish to become the happiest and most confident version of yourself?

Everyone needs a community of supportive friends to laugh, learn, and play with. At Finest City Improv, we believe that community comes first. That’s why our students say we are the most fun, passionate, and supportive improv theatre and school in San Diego! Finest City Improv is full of fun people who are love bringing more joy into each other’s lives.

And, you don’t have to be funny!  We have lawyers, doctors, homemakers, actors, college students, and everyone in between, learn with us because they’re seeking a chance to find like minded individuals looking to find joy and humor in their everyday lives.

In the course of 7 weeks you will be playing games, creating characters, learning about your classmates, and building a community of friends that become like family! Guided by our experienced teachers, you will become more confident speaking in front of a group, presenting your ideas clearly, and finding the humor in everyday situations. Improv is truly a life changing art.

Plus, as a student you enjoy FREE admission to the theatre, which is a great place to see shows, grab a drink or snack, and catch up with your new improv friends. I hope you will join our awesome community!

When I first came to Finest City, I was so shy that I would panic when I was put into an unfamiliar situation. Almost a year later, I’ve really come out of my shell. Not only have my friendships with others deepened; it even helped me land an awesome job!Elisa Ellis

Finest City Improv will feel so much like home that you’ll want to come here every single day of your life! I was having a crummy month and decided to take a chance and try a Level 1 Improv class to meet people and de-stress in my daily life. What I found, from that first day of class with our awesome teacher, was THE BEST possible experience you can have in San Diego and I would recommend taking a class no matter who you are and what you do. Improv is for everyone.  In truth, learning improvisation reaches far beyond the classroom and the stage.  The improv skills you learn from our classes can be applied to your personal and professional life. Improv boosts confidence, helps you face your fears, encourages you to take more risks, inspires creativity, and hones your skills to think quickly on your feet.  Not to mention, you’ll have fun and laugh a whole lot more!  We think those are some pretty great reasons. Don’t you?

Improv isn’t just about being “funny”.  In fact, we tell our students NOT to focus on the funny and just be themselves! The humor in improv is found through the characters within scenes and everyone working together as an ensemble.

Through games and exercises, we’ll work on team building, making bold choices, building confidence, thinking on your feet, and being comfortable in your own skin.

No! But, we encourage and provide opportunities for every student to perform if they desire to and we help you do it!  All students in levels 2 and 3 are invited to play at least once a term in our student and teacher show which we call, “Greenhorn”.  We also have class shows for every level!
